Jamestown Swing August 15 2009 3-8:#0OM. Gannaway St. Jamestown NC

Welcome to the

Second Annual Jamestown Swing

The street festival/block party will be held August 14, from 3 p.m.–10 p.m. The entire length of Gannaway St. from Main St. to Ragsdale Rd. will be blocked off, turning downtown Jamestown into a gigantic concert venue. Two stages will be set up at both ends of the street, and eight top-notch bands will provide music continuously throughout the afternoon and evening.

Two beer gardens, a wine-tasting area, and food vendors will make sure no one’s thirst goes unquenched or appetite unsated. Shaded picnic areas and a mist tent will be on premises, and soft drinks and bottled water will be sold. A variety of arts and crafts vendors will also be on hand, as will several golf apparel and equipment sales reps.

So mark your social calendar now for Saturday, August 14. Jamestown Swing Into Wyndham promises to be the party of the summer and the perfect way to get in the spirit for the Triad’s premier sporting event.

Proceeds

Not only does the Jamestown Swing Into Wyndham promise to be the party of the summer and the perfect way to get in the spirit for the Triad’s premiere sporting event but the proceeds go to the Ragsdale Family YMCA supporting the 2010 We Build People Campaign and to The First Tee.

Ragsdale Family YMCA– "We Build People"

Our goal is to turn no one away from YMCA programs or services due to an inability to pay. This is made possible by We Build People, the annual charitab le-giving program of the YMCA of Greensboro. We Build People provides Open Doors scholarships and allows the YMCA to support important community service programs. Your gift to We Build People keeps memberships and programs affordable and open to everyone. For 120 years, the YMCA has been a strong part of our community. More than 60,000 people build their spirit, mind and body at the YMCA each year. Our YMCA’s six branches and Camp Weaver strengthen people of all ages and financial abilities every day.

The Y’s wide range of activities for youth, teens, adults, families, and seniors is open to everyone. Last year, YMCA scholarships helped more than 2,400 deserving people with financial assistance for programs they needed. Many more need our help now to support YMCA community service programs. Your contribution to We Build People is much needed and appreciated.

The First Tee

The First Tee, an initiative of the World Golf Foundation, has as its mission to impact the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character-development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf. Their goal is to provide the golf learning facilities and the experience that will enable kids from every walk of life to partake of a game that teaches values for life and which can be played for a lifetime.

The First Tee has brought the game of golf, its positive values and character education to more than 3.5 million young people since its inception in 1997. Over the next five years they want to more than double that number. It is an ambitious goal, but one they can accomplish with your help.
